Hewid Stud was founded by my great-grandfather John Evans together with my great-uncle Gareth of Blaengors Fawr, Dihewyd, in Cerdigion, and in 2004 I was given the Hewid prefix by my Uncle. The foundation mare was Chancery Polly and one of her most famous sons was Hewid Cardi (see pictures in gallery page). By today the Hewid Stud is well known throughout the world and I would like to try and re-establish the good work of Cob breeding that was done by great grandfather and uncle. My main interest is breeding cobs to break-in for riding. Horses from the stud will compete at dressage, showing, show jumping and cross country competitions.
COBIAU CYMREIG HEWID WELSH COBS
Cychwynnwyd Bridfa Hewid gan fy hen dadcu John Evans ynghyd a fy ewythr Gareth Blaengors Fawr, Dihewyd, Ceredigion, ac yn 2004 trosglwyddodd fy ewythr yr enw i mi. Sylfaenydd y Fridfa oedd Chancery Polly ac un o’i meibion enwocaf oedd Hewid Cardi. (gwelir lluniau ar y dudalen "gallery.")
Erbyn heddiw mae ceffylau Hewid yn adnabyddus drwy’r byd a hoffwn geisio efelychu y gwaith da a wnaethpwyd yn y maes bridio cobiau gan fy nghyn- deidiau. Fy mhrif ddiddordeb i yw bridio cobiau ar gyfer eu torri i mewn i farchogaeth. Bydd ceffylau o’r fridfa hefyd yn cystadlu mewn treialon hyweddu, sioeau, neidio a marchogaeth trawsgwlad.
